One day, a man found this beautiful tiny cocoon hanging under a leaf in his garden. He found out that its almost on his final days and any time, a butterfly would emerge. He started watching it curiously.
On an afternoon, he noticed a tiny hole on one end of its body. Through it, he saw the multi-colors of a butterfly. It was struggling to come out of the cocoon through that tiny hole. He kept on watching.
The butterfly would move a bit and then it would stop for a while until it started to move again. Even after long hardwork, it was still inside the cocoon. The hole was too small for the butterfly and it was literally struggling to get out. The man thought, “Why shouldn’t I help this tiny being?”
He took a pair of scissors and snipped the cocoon’s body, to help the butterfly. As he believed, the butterfly could break free and came out with ease. It fell to the ground. But, it had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man started waiting patiently near it, to develop wings and to fly high. But it never happened.
The butterfly lived on and spent the rest of its life crawling around.
The struggle of every butterfly to break free from its cocoon is nature’s design to help them shred off the fluid covering the wings, thus prompting its growth and development. This struggle is what grooms the butterfly as beautiful and winged living beings. The hardships and difficulties we undergo now are subtly shaping us as better, humble and beautiful human beings!
